and 'Buy it now' mean?
There are 3 kinds of auction on The Saleroom; 'Live', 'Timed' and 'Buy it now'
What is a 'Live' auction?
An auction in which an auctioneer takes bids on each lot as they come up during the live auction event. Bidders should be ready to place their bids when the lots they are interested in come up.
You can also leave a maximum bid on the Saleroom. If you do, we will bid up to that amount for you! But watch out! The best way to win is to bid live even if you've left a maximum bid.
What is a 'Timed' auction?
In a timed auction there is no auctioneer taking bids from a live audience in a room. Instead, each lot can be bid on for a defined period of time (usually about 2 weeks).
At the end of this period, the bidder who has submitted the highest bid wins the lot.
What is 'Buy it now'?
Some items on The Saleroom have an option to “Buy it now”.
As the name suggests, this simply means that bidders have the option to purchase the item at the price shown immediately.
Once the item has been purchased the item is no longer listed as available on the site.
